Oh! I loved every mouthful of this delightful meal. The salad and checken karaage we’re so excellent, we ordered a second of each.
Each couple also chose a Teishoku set, each with a different fish. We all tasted everything. The miso soup was a bit salty for our taste, but everything else was far beyond expectations.
Hopefully, we will come again and get a table in the inviting outdoor space.
I've been wanting to come here for a long time, which is difficult since I'm an out of stater. We came for lunch and I like how simple the menu is. We did the saba shio yaki and the shio koji chicken. Both were really tender and moist. For the presentation, they added a sliver of the burnt cedar wood which gave off a nice citrus aroma to the dish.
I am really interested in coming back to try the dinner menu, which is much larger.
Do not skip the tofu donut with pear compote. It is quite the finisher.
I enjoyed using the lunch as a demo for the Snow Peak gear. I really wanted to purchase more!
We made a reservation as it was connected to snow peak and wanted to give it a try.
Food was average at most. The only dish that stood out to me was the miso black cod. But for the price it was not worth it.
* We were also never notified about the automatic 20% gratuity (even though it was only the 2 of us) until the bill came*
Very well designed space with delicious and unique food and cocktails. The meal was well paced and the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a fun add to get to use Snow Peak serving products throughout the meal.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We ordered a couple of cocktails, both of which were excellent. The chicken karaage (fried chicken thighs) were excellent and paired well with the Japanese-style poutine. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful restaurant and very friendly staffs.
The food was left to be desired though. We ordered a bunch of dishes. I do love the Tai sashimi, black cod, and the refreshing beers. However, the agedashi tofu was really bland and the poutine and karage were salty.
A cozy, Japanese-style restaurant adorned with a wooden interior, SnowPeak utensils, and bowls, offering diners an authentic culinary journey through time-honored recipes amidst an intimate ambiance.
We are part of Portland’s Tasting Collective and taste food at many of the up and coming restaurants and this one stands out as Really Great! I don’t give many 5 stars but both the sashimi, Hassun appetizer and beef cheeks were amazing! Highly recommend you check it out!
